The capital is Port Moresby, and the official languages are English, Tok Pisin, and Hiri Motu. The country is known for its rugged landscapes, dense rainforests, and rich biodiversity. Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy, though mining and natural gas also play significant roles. Traditional customs, called “kastom,” remain vital to the people, and the country is home to many unique tribal cultures and ceremonies.
