About North Macedonia: With its capital Skopje, is a landlocked Balkan country with a rich cultural history. The population is primarily ethnic Macedonian, with a significant Albanian minority. Macedonian is the official language. The country is known for its ancient ruins, Byzantine churches, and Ottoman mosques. One of its unique features is Lake Ohrid, one of the oldest and deepest lakes in Europe, and a UNESCO World Heritage site. North Macedonia’s complex history includes influences from Ancient Greece, the Byzantine Empire, and the Ottoman Empire.
