English is the official language, though Spanish is also widely spoken. Gibraltar is known for its strategic location at the entrance to the Mediterranean and its famous Rock of Gibraltar. One unique feature of Gibraltar is its Barbary macaques, the only wild monkeys in Europe. The territory’s mix of British and Mediterranean cultures is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and traditions.
