French is the official language, though local languages such as Mossi, Fula, and Dioula are widely spoken. Known for its traditional masks and vibrant festivals, Burkina Faso has a strong artistic culture. The country also hosts the Pan-African Film and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO), one of the most significant film festivals on the African continent.
