Its capital, Kabul, has been a historical and cultural center for centuries. Afghanistan’s terrain is mostly mountainous, with the Hindu Kush range running through the country. Despite a long history of conflict, the country is rich in natural resources and has a diverse culture, with Pashto and Dari as its official languages. Afghanistan is predominantly Islamic, and agriculture, especially poppy cultivation, plays a significant role in the economy.
