About Tonga: A Polynesian kingdom of more than 170 islands, is known for its pristine beaches, clear waters, and vibrant culture. The capital is Nuku’alofa, located on the island of Tongatapu. Tongan and English are the official languages. The country’s economy relies on agriculture, fishing, and remittances from abroad. Tonga is unique in that it remains one of the last monarchies in the Pacific. The people of Tonga are proud of their cultural heritage, which includes traditional dances, music, and craftsmanship, particularly in tapa cloth and carvings.
